Are You Taking Care of YOU?

If you are like me, your loved ones are always on your mind. In the supermarket, I think about their favorite foods. On my way to work, while passing the house we lived in when the kids were young, I think about all of those memories. At work, I think about the latest activities everyone is involved with and hoping their days are going well.

Sometimes, the love for our families and devotion to them gets in the way of taking the time to love ourselves too. We often sacrifice our own needs for the needs of those we love. We will give up exercise, eating healthy, having fun, and maybe our hobbies to care for and satisfy our loved ones.

Taking care of our families can even hold us back from reaching our highest potential, personal goals, and living a healthier lifestyle.

Today, I want to remind you to make sure you don't forget about yourself. Take the time out for your needs too.

It's not selfish to take care of ourselves, it's essential. Getting enough sleep, going for a massage, catching up with friends, or doing whatever it is that brings you joy enables you to give more, be more present with our families, and love deeper. 

Your homework: Today, go out and do something for yourself. Take yourself out to lunch, get a manicure, get to the gym, take a drive to the beach, grab a Starbucks, or take a walk in the park and see if it makes a difference. You deserve it, and you are worth it.
